Workshop Information
- The cost is $60 per workshop. A fee of $20 is offered to current supervisors of BSU SSW students.
- Three (3) Continuing Education Credits in Social Work will be awarded for each completed workshop.

Complex Ethical Challenges in Social Work: Protecting Clients and Ourselves
Oct. 8, 2026, 9 am – 12 pm via Zoom

• Moving beyond introductory concepts, difficult and complex issues explored, and strategies for preventing litigation and complaints discussed.
• Cases will be offered to explore such areas as
boundaries, dual relationships, conflict of interest, privileged communication, client’s rights, and
termination.
• Overview of relevant ethics and practice standards, statutes, regulations, and case law addressed to
provide frameworks for practice.
Caring for the Caregiver

• Discuss importance of self-care and strategies to support emotional, psycho-social and psychological well-being for caregivers who work with trauma.
• Explore the bio-psychosocial theory of stress and trauma and implications for caregivers.
• Discuss reactions that can limit social and emotional support and practice examples of validation,
communication and inter-personal skills to increase meaningful support.

Wraparound Model from 1970-2027
•Discussion of ten principles that can be incorporated into supervision.
•Exploration of how the model can be applied to a variety of clinical and other social work practice settings.
Homicide of a Young Person: Responding to Families and Communities
Apr. 2, 2027, 10 am – 1pm at Bridgewater State main campus
In collaboration with the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute
Clinician Leaders will address the impact of violent death of youth and young adults on families and communities, and the interplay of useful response and social justice.
